No Sales, No gimmicks

We live in the age of multi level marketing companies and using the power of social media to sell, recruit and convince people to use our product.  You know which one I attract the most? Weight loss programs....from workouts to diets to eating plans.... and the very people who offer it to me have no issue pointing out I need to lose weight. I do not think they are worried If they offend me as my weight issue is apparent and they certainly have the solution for what they see as one of my problems.
I have to admit, I have been persuaded to try some of these products. And some have helped me lose weight, yet none of them have ever been so 100% effective that they have convinced me to become a sales representative myself. I look at the people that do sell them and they are so passionate in believing in their product and are sincerely convinced they are helping people change lives with either the product or the business opportunity to generate income. Making money selling and recruiting new sellers.

Whether the products have worked or not, I am not mad at the people for selling it to me or trying to convince me theirs is the best. What I have learned is two things. One, they are not afraid to offer it as a solution even if I have not asked them for help. Like I mentioned before none of them are afraid to point out I am overweight and risk offending me just so that they can introduce me to something that can help me. And two, though a lot are motivated by the money that they can make, they seem genuinely sincere in their desire to help others and are convinced they are changing lives. They represent with such zeal where post after post or conversation after conversation they do not mind making a sales pitch in hopes of convincing someone to try their product.  Even running the risk of being annoying to some.

And though I haven't found a multi level marketing company that I feel I can 100% represent and invest in, I am convinced I need to be more like these sales people. See I know, our greatest problems are not our weight, our allergies, our need for makeup, or clothes which so many of these "MLM opportunities" sell us. Our greatest need is not even an extra income or more time.

To make it short and sweet, I am not here to convince you to try any new miraculous product, but as a believer I am here to encourage you!
We have the answer: (JESUS) to the world's greatest need (Forgiveness). The sin that enslaves us, that cause us pain, hurt, misery, and separation from God has been taken away by our Savior on that cross, if we only believe and confess in Him. And how can they believe if they do not hear? It's a stir to continue to tell the world. We are all living forever- its a matter of where! We shouldn't be afraid of offending anyone by pointing out their need for redemption- its a matter of eternity. This message is the one I want to be completely sold out, radically passionate, zealous about. Bringing the GOSPEL - the great news that the effectiveness of Jesus doesn't depend on them or what they do. That there is no way it can be undone, and it guarantees us an eternity with the Father. My life was changed the moment I realized my need for Jesus. The moment I heard that there was nothing I had done that was too bad to be forgiven, and there was no good I could do to earn it. His LOVE for me stretched out to me while I was a sinner- and in HIS grace HE saw it fit to die for me so that I would be able to have this relationship- a relationship that in HIS mercy frees me from the consequence of my sin- a relationship that is restored and gives me PURPOSE and HOPE. A life changed only because someone took the time to tell me this news. How could I not live to promote, preach, sell and make HIS name known?

Nothing Else.

My favorite worship song right now is by Cody Carnes : Nothing Else. The lyrics as simple as can be: "I just want you. Nothing Else, nothing Else will do, I just want you." And as I sang this song a few Saturday nights ago at service, with my eyes closed and hands lifted in worship, I breathed in, and came to the realization of how more than just a song its a truth and a prayer I must live out everyday of my life. We just moved a week ago, and until then we were living in a clutter of boxes. and I realized how much I hate clutter. I know it was necessary, but it was making my mind cluttered as well and I just felt messy and like I couldn't wait to be in the new place, unpacked, and organized. I figured this would bring back the peace a normal routine and clean house brings me. It was just this week, I was listening to a preaching. A preaching that talked about the importance of walking in obedience especially when it comes to our finances. Dr. Mark Jobe on Mood...

New Me

Today, marks 8 years since my life was radically changed. It was this day that I realized two things::: Only God could love me wholly and perfectly, and there was no mistake I'd made that was too big for forgiveness....and it's the same forgiveness He'd want me to have with others. I celebrate this day because prior to this I wasn't really living... I was a slave to me and my selfish ways and years of doing things our way clearly wasn't working. At this point in my life I thought I'd be a 21 year old divorced single mother who would have to live in shame and guilt of ruining her own marriage..... But God.... He wasn't done. And He meant it all for good. He had started a work in my heart and my husband and was orchestrating these series of events that would lead us to Him.... Repentance and each other with a love newer and purer than before. A couple weeks ago I sat in a room full of women and told my testimony and I vividly remember every tear I ...

"Woe Is Me"

This past week some days were cloudy, dark, and rainy with just a few hours of sunshine in between. And sometimes that's exactly the state of mind we fall in to. Cloudy, rainy and barely sunny.  I wallowed in self pity about almost everything and my mood was deteriorating fast.... it was like my mind went from Sunny Florida days to thunderstorms rolling in almost immediately like a typical summer afternoon. I was frustrated with my cravings and lack of weight loss despite doing more then ever before. I was frustrated with what seems to be the kids never ending fighting and bickering.  I was feeling annoyed by my husband despite him being the sweet loving guy who comes home to help me with dinner..... I was lamenting that right now is not a good time to pursue education.... I was even listening to the voice that says I can't blog about what I'm learning. ...... I haven't learned it yet. For the past two weeks, I was more attentive to my feelings then the word of...
