Bye Twenties, Hello 30!

As I sit here on the last day of my twenties, I have had a lot of time to look back in awe of what God has done and only be grateful for the life I have lived so far!

I used to look at 30 as such a significant milestone and honestly even one where my youth is fading, yet lately I am embracing it and looking forward to all God holds as all my expectations for my 20s blew me away!

Lately, I know every day is a gift to be lived at it's fullest. It's an opportunity to seek more of Jesus, love others and bring Him glory in all I do. And thats exactly what I plan to do in my 30s as well.

I started my 20s being a mother of an active 1 year old boy, and celebrating 5 years of marriage. To say we took the fast track is an understatement. We lived at my parents house and only looked forward to home ownership.

That was accomplished! We became home owners and parents of another baby girl by the time I was 23.

At the same time, my life was radically changed when I was able to know Jesus as my Savior and realize life was not
Meant to be done without Him.

I was blessed to have spent my twenties in the same employer working for the best doctors and being given opportunities to learn so much more in the medical field.

I didn't only learn to live for Jesus, but found what it meant to do life with others who also desired the same. People who took the time to pray for me, disciple me, mentor me, and pour into me in many ways.

From church, to work, to friendships, my life has been enriched.

I had so many dreams come true. From watching a Colombia soccer game with my dad and family, to the Backstreet boys in concert to having my husband actually pull off a proposal I never had.

We took courses. Learned a lot. Volunteered and got to serve with amazing people and added many kids to love along the way. We sold our house. Learned to live debt free and solely depend on God's provision.

I got to go on my first missions trip, get a promotion, start this blog, be featured on a marriage website where we could share our testimony and point others to Jesus.

Got to do my first lip sync to endless karaoke ... Share my testimony , learn to lead groups and counsel others. Went on my first cruise, traveled to Mexico, Colombia, Trinidad, Guatemala, and Tenessee to experiencing snow in Colorado for the first time.

I got to go to many womens conferences, marriage retreats, worship concerts from Hillsong to Lecrae-- and experience the fullness of life there is in Jesus.

Met the greatest friends that have been there for years now building lives and memories and cultivating prayer and faith in growing together.

I could go on forever, and seeing all this goodness reminds me there's so much more that is to come. And it doesn't end because I am in my 30s. But God's goodness is promised to follow me everyday of my life.

With the family, and friends that God has given me, I am walking into my 30's boldly confident He goes before me and has so much more in store than my mind cold ever fathom.

As long as I got breath, I got a story to share, people to love and a Jesus to Glorify!

Hello 30!!!

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." -Psalm 23:6

16 and Married!

As most of you may already know, I wasn't 16 and pregnant, like the popular MTV show. Instead I was 16 and married. Yes married before I graduated, or officially got my driving license. Married before I got an actual job and before I knew what marriage was really going to require.     I met my husband my freshman year in high school and for many months only looked at him as a friend to share my "boy" drama with. But after many lunches, conversations, hanging out, inviting him to my church, dancing at my quince, and skipping many electives together, I was in love with my homeboy, my friend. And all of a sudden, all the guys that I was entertaining as potential suitors didn't matter anymore. Not after Emerald called my house on a Tuesday night while I was watching American Idol, to confess his love for me. I remember seeing his family name on the caller I.D and almost falling off my bed to get the phone to tell him my sister wasn't home. My

Like ME!

How many likes will this get? Living in the social media age we live in, its often a question we ask before posting anything. A thought, our lunch, a new outfit, or an accomplishment in school or our career. Last week in school, my son was nominated to run for president of his kindergarten class as they learned about president's day. When he came home he told me he wasn't sure if they liked him and would vote for him. Of course, with me, that sparked a life conversation with him. "Not everyone is going to like you Manny, and that's ok!". I could even hear my moms voice in my head (in Spanish of course) telling me the very same thing growing up. I had to reassure him that all he could do was keep being the Emmanuel he is. With all his knowledge, likes, dislikes, habits, and mannerisms that are individual to him; he has to know he doesn't need anybody's approval to be just that. (except his parent's right now, but authority is another topic). I&#

Love Does......

With Memorial day coming up and Emmanuel telling me all about learning about the armed forces and the sacrifices our troops make, I couldn't help but think about what Love does. They say there is no greater love than that which would lay their own life down for another, so for that great sacrifice lets thank all those who are serving and those who have served or lost their life while doing so. Funny thing, is that in the past week I also heard a song about love like no other. About love doing things not for who may see, or what we may get but just because love Does. Love is an action, a commitment, a decision to do and not just say or "feel". Not all of us are called to serve in the military nor will we always have the chance to physically lay our life down for others, but Loving is something we all get to do! Loving in my marriage and as mother, has taught me how sacrificial it ought to be. Even with the man I chose to marry, and the kids that came from my womb a
